Turkish Festival Committee President Halil Demir Visits America’s Largest Doner Factory

Halil Demir, President of the Turkish Festival Committee, visited Egea Food, last year’s and this year doner sponsor of the Turkish Festival.

Egea Food, a Miami-based Turkish food company, is known for producing doner, shawarma, and gyro products for restaurants, catering companies, and large-scale events. With halal-certified products and traditional family recipes, the company has become an important Turkish brand bringing authentic flavors to the American market.

During the visit, Demir met with Egea Food CEO Ongun Kocabaş and expressed his appreciation for the company’s support of the Turkish Festival. Demir noted that supporting Turkish-American businesses is especially meaningful, as these companies help promote Turkish culture, cuisine, and entrepreneurship across the United States.

“Doner is not only one of the most special dishes of Turkish cuisine, but also one of the strongest cultural bridges connecting people through food,” Demir said. “We are proud to see Turkish entrepreneurs like Egea Food representing our culinary heritage in America.”

Demir also thanked Egea Food for serving as the Turkish Festival’s doner sponsor last year and praised the company’s efforts to introduce high-quality Turkish doner to wider audiences in the U.S.

At the end of the visit, Halil Demir presented a plaque to Egea Food CEO Ongun Kocabaş in recognition of the company’s support for the Turkish Festival and its contributions to the Turkish-American business community.

Turkish Festival officials stated that they will continue building partnerships with Turkish businesses across the United States to promote Turkish culture, cuisine, arts, and entrepreneurship to broader communities.
